WRPS homicide branch is investigating human remains found in the Grand River, near Water Street South in Cambridge Friday night.

A citizen found the remains around 6 p.m. while fishing in the river.

The Niagara Regional Police dive team have been brought in to help with the investigation.

The body has not been identified, but police believe it could possibly be a young adult female.

WRPS say the investigation is in infancy stages, and few details are available.
