A 23-year-old Wilmot Township man was charged Sunday with multiple firearm-related offences.

Police say the man was holding a party at his home on Cottage Road, on the outskirts of New Dundee, Saturday night.

As Saturday night turned into Sunday morning, the man tried to get his guests to leave. According to police, an argument ensued, during which the homeowner brought out a long-gun and fired one shot into the air.

Police were called to the scene at that point. The man refused to leave his house until 6 a.m., when he surrendered to officers and was taken into custody without incident.
