A 19-year-old man faces charges after allegedly attacking another man following a dispute over pizza.

The altercation occurred shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday.

According to Guelph Police, two men were sitting and eating in the Pizza Pizza at Stone Road Mall when two other men came into the restaurant.

One member of the second pair came over to the first group and allegedly helped himself to some of their pizza.

That led to a verbal argument, which police say was “taken outside” and became physical.

During the scuffle, the man who had taken the pizza allegedly brandished a knife and used it to cut the finger of one of the other men.

Chun Hay Ko of Markham was arrested at the scene and charged with assault with a weapon, as well as possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The man who suffered the cut to his finger did not need medical attention.

UPDATE: As of February 2016, this case has been resolved in the courts with Ko entering into a peace bond.
