A Cambridge-based food manufacturer says it will create 50 new full-time jobs thanks to a $1.3-million allotment from the provincial government.

Grand River Foods says the funding will also help it maintain its current workforce of 315 over the next four years.

The $1.3 million will be put towards a $13-million expansion of its plant in Cambridge, as well as the purchase of new equipment.

Grand River Foods’ customers include some of Canada’s leading retailers, restaurant brands and food distributors.
