A Cambridge-based frozen food manufacturer will get another big cheque as part of a massive expansion project.

Waterloo MP Bardish Chagger and Kitchener South-Hespeler MP Marwan Tabbara were on hand Friday for the announcement that the federal government will put up as much as $3 million for the expansion at Grand River Foods.

The company is embarking on a $14-million expansion that will at 16,150 square feet to its Boxwood Drive facility, which it says will help it expand its customer base in Canada and make moves into the United States.

The provincial government announced last fall that it would put $1.3 million toward expansion at Grand River Foods.

The expansion is expected to create 50 jobs at the plant by 2017.
