Fire officials say they suspect a faulty battery charger may be to blame for an early-morning fire in Waterloo.
Crews were called to Kingscourt Drive, in the city’s northeast, shortly after 2 a.m. Monday.
They were able to contain the fire to the home’s basement, but smoke damage permeated the home.
Damage is expected to exceed $100,000.
Three people living inside the home have been displaced.
