One person died and three others were hospitalized Monday during an incident at a Cambridge business.

According to a Ministry of Labour spokesperson, police contacted them after finding one person dead at XNC Contractors, in a plaza on Dundas Street near Samuelson Street.

Sunday evening, the worker – who co-owns the business – had been working at the business.

His co-workers arrived around 9 a.m. Monday to find him without vital signs.

They also found a gas generator running and shut it off.

Three workers were taken to hospital by paramedics.

The circumstances around the death and hospitalizations remain under investigation, but police suspect carbon monoxide poisoning may be the cause.
