Brantford Police say they’ve made an arrest in connection with a stabbing that began as a dispute between two people fishing in the Grand River.

The stabbing occurred last week, along the river behind Earl Haig Waterpark.

It sent one person to hospital, where he was treated for a stab wound to his leg.

Police say they arrested a 43-year-old Brantford man Thursday in connection with the attack.

He faces charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for the dangerous purpose.

According to police, the two men involved did not know each other before they both showed up at the river.
