Waterloo Regional Police are investigating two robberies that occurred at convenience stores in Cambridge, near its border with Kitchener.

The most recent robbery occurred shortly before 7 a.m. Monday, at the Little Short Stop on Preston Parkway.

Police remained in the area for some time, searching for a suspect who they described as white, about 5’7” tall, in his mid-20s and dressed in dark winter clothing.

Early Sunday morning, a robbery was reported at the Canadian Tire gas bar on Fountain Street.

In that case, police say, a man holding a knife got away with cash.

He is described as a white man, seen wearing a green hoodie with a white zipper and strings, a winter hat, black jeans and gloves.

No injuries were reported in either incident.

The two robberies could be linked due to the proximity of the businesses, police said.
