One woman was airlifted to Hamilton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries following a crash in Kitchener on Tuesday.

The crash occurred around 6:45 a.m. on Trussler Road, between Ottawa Street and the Highway 7/8 ramps.

It is believed that a Volkswagen vehicle lost control and spun into the path of a minivan.

The driver of the Volkswagen – a 23-year-old Kitchener woman – was taken to hospital.

The driver of the van was not injured.

Waterloo Regional Police say it’s not clear if Tuesday morning’s inclement weather definitively contributed to the crash. They want to hear from anyone who was driving in the area at the time.

“The conditions are changing momentarily, and so we’d like to know what the conditions were at the time of the collision,” said Sgt. Stu Church.

Trussler remained closed in the area into the afternoon.
