The Victoria Day long weekend is considered an unofficial kick-off to summer.   Here’s a look at what’s open and closed around Waterloo Region.

 

What’s open?

-Grand River Transit runs on Sunday schedule

-Waterloo  Region Museum (regular hours)

-McDougall Cottage is open Noon to 5:00 p.m.

-The Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Special hours)

-Lyle Hallman Pool is open 11:45 a.m. to 5 p.m.

-Most splash pads in the region  (note: McLennan Park will not be open until further notice)

-The Kitchener Aud for the K-W Kennel Club’s Annual Dog Show

 

What’s closed?

-Most grocery stores, LCBO and Beer stores, shopping malls

-Kitchener Market,

-Joseph Schneider Haus,

-Sunnyside Wellness Centre,

-All Kitchener Public Library locations,

-Breithaupt, Cameron Heights and Forest Heights pools

-Community centres closed Monday; Downtown, Doon Pioneer Park, Forest Heights, Stanley Park, Victoria Hills and Chandler Mowat.

-Community centres closed entire weekend; Bridgeport, Centreville, Chicopee, Kingsdale, Mill Courtland, Williamsburg and Rockway centres.  (Note: Country Hills Community Centre closed Sunday thru Monday.)

-Budd Park indoor soccer facility

-Cambridge/Waterloo waste transfer stations for residential drop-off,

-All Regional Administrative Offices,

-Regional Daycare centers and Home Child Care,
