The West Montrose Covered Bridge, also known as the ‘Kissing Bridge’ has been closed for an inspection.
Work at the historic Woolwich Township bridge is scheduled to begin Thursday and continue until Feb. 28.
The Region of Waterloo says the detailed inspection is needed to evaluate the capacity of the existing wooden truss.
Major rehabilitation work on the landmark is planned for next year.
