Terry Tremble was mad about his relationship with his wife the day before she was found dead, a friend of Tremble’s testified Thursday.

Tremble is accused of murdering his wife, Adrienne Roberts. Roberts’ body was found in the couple’s Arthur home on Oct. 6, 2010.

William Bucholtz, a friend of Tremble’s, took to the stand Thursday as a Crown witness.

He told jurors that he had an hour-long face-to-face conversation with Tremble one day before Roberts’ body was discovered.

Bucholtz said Tremble complained about issues with his wife, saying she wouldn’t let Tremble see their son Caleb very often.

Roberts also chose to sleep in the basement while leaving Tremble upstairs, Bucholtz said.

Bucholtz also testified that Tremble told him Roberts was supposed to look after the couple’s household expenses, but bought a new car instead of putting money into their mortgage.

Jurors were told to disregard a statement from Bucholtz that he was worried about Tremble’s emotion state and told him not to “do anything stupid”. The judge ruled that statement inadmissible.

Others have testified that Roberts regretted the marriage and wanted a divorce, but feared retribution from Tremble.

A forensic scientist also testified Thursday, saying Tremble's DNA was found on Roberts' clothing, but that it could have come from saliva or even a skin cell that mixed with blood and did not specifically implicate Tremble.

Tremble has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder. The trial is expect to last into mid-February.
