Firefighters were called to a home in the community of Ohsweken early Friday morning, in response to an SUV crashing into the residence.

According to Six Nations fire chief Matthew Miller, the collision occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on Fourth Line.

The impact of the collision caused the home to move 18 inches off its foundation, Miller said in a press release, and also moved the building’s main hydro meter.

As a result, the house was evacuated and fire crews remained on standby in case fuel leaking from the SUV ignited.

One person inside the vehicle was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

None of the people inside the home were hurt.

The vehicle was eventually taken away from the area by a tow truck.

Six Nations Police are investigating the collision, Miller said.
