Waterloo Regional Police are looking to identify a suspect in the alleged sexual assault of a four-year-old child.

According to police, the girl was sexually touched in her backyard on Barrie Place in Waterloo, near King and Weber streets, by a man she did not know.

The alleged assault took place between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday.

“The child came forward to their family, and then their family brought this forward to police,” says police spokesperson Alana Holtom.

The suspect is described as a white man with lightly tanned skin, 6’6” and between 30 and 40 years old with short hair, big cheeks, a flat chin and no facial hair.

He was wearing a navy blue zip-up jacket, a dark green baseball cap, blue jeans and oval-shaped eyeglasses.

Police canvassed the Barrie Place area Tuesday evening.
