The Tricar Group has released a statement saying the man who died in an industrial accident at a condo development Kitchener was a valuable member of their team.

The construction site on Belmont Avenue West in Kitchener, Ont. remained shut down a day after the 42-year-old London man was killed.

The worker was apparently struck and killed when an eight tonne piece of concrete that was being lifted by a crane hit him in the head.

Ministry of Labour investigators were back on the scene Thursday trying to figure out exactly what happened, and it's unclear when the investigation will be completed.

Two investigations remain underway at the site, one into the death and one in connection with another incident on February 22.

That's when a worker was knocked unconscious after being hit by a bin being moved by an overhead crane.

The project is the only condo development Tricar has underway in Waterloo Region, but several others are under construction in London.

In a statement the company adds "Our management team is working diligently with the Ministry of Labour and the local authorities to complete a thorough investigation to determine the events that led to this tragic incident."

Flowers were also dropped off at the work site Thursday.
