MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Ontario's police watchdog is looking into a crash in Cambridge that left a driver injured.
The Special Investigations Unit says Waterloo regional police were called Monday night about a vehicle being operated in a dangerous manner.
Waterloo police report that when officers responded, the vehicle fled the scene.
The officers followed and a short distance later, the vehicle struck a concrete light standard and the driver was ejected.
The SIU says the driver was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries.
The SIU is an arm's-length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
