Shots fired into Kitchener home, neighbours call it 'really shocking'
Waterloo Regional Police Service is investigating after bullet holes were found on a Kitchener residence Thursday afternoon.
On Jan. 9 at around 4:30 p.m., police were called to a residence in the area of Howe Drive and Ottawa Street South for property damage.
Police said several holes were found on the side of the home, which were determined to be caused by bullets.
Investigators believe that the shots associated with the damage were fired around 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
Police said the residence was occupied at the time of the shooting but no one was hurt.
The residents in the unit that was hit did not want to do an interview but let CTV News see the damage.

“It's just been very eerie,” said one resident who lives nearby. “Really shocking, it's a pretty tight knit little community here.”
Some residents said they heard noises when it happened.
Kara Payne said her dogs woke up in the middle of the night.
“The one dog started climbing up on me at about 3 in the morning, and I didn't think anything of it. I thought he'd just heard a noise or whatever. But now thinking back I'm like maybe he heard something,” said Payne.
Another resident said they heard a loud bang shortly after midnight and thought it was fireworks.
CTV News asked police if there were shots fired at two different times on the same night. Police said it is part of the ongoing investigation.
Police are also still trying to determine if the shooting was targeted.
The investigation continues and there will be an increased police presence in the area throughout Friday.
Anyone with information or video of the incident is asked to call police at 519-570-9777, extension 6370.
