Shots fired into Cambridge home

Police have released photos of a suspect’s car after gunshots were fired into a Cambridge home on Friday morning.

According to Waterloo regional police, officers responded to the residence on Sekura Street near Munch Avenue around 3:50 a.m.

No one was hurt. Investigators believe the shooting was targeted.

At least 11 shots were fired, police said.

Bullet holes were visible in the home’s front door and adjoining window. Investigators placed evidence markers on the sidewalk, driveway and front lawn beside what appeared to be bullet casings and fragments left on the ground.

Police could not confirm who was living in the home or how many people were inside at the time of the shooting.

Police said the suspect was driving a white SUV with a burnt out headlight on the passenger side.

“This is an ongoing investigation and we are asking members of the public, if they have any information, to contact Waterloo regional police. For any anonymous information, they can contact Crime Stoppers,” Const. Chris Iden said.

Sekura Street was closed for the investigation but has since reopened to traffic.
