The ‘all clear’ has been given after an incident that had the authorities asking some Listowel residents not to leave their homes.
Early Friday afternoon, an ammonia leak was discovered at the Listowel Memorial Arena.
Officials with North Perth Township said anyone living within 800 metres of the arena should stay inside, with their doors and windows closed.
The leak was quickly contained, but officials said a “small amount” of ammonia escaped into the atmosphere.
By 5 p.m., the leak had been dealt with to the point that life could return to normal.
