Waterloo Regional police investigate serious crash on Northumberland Street.
Police say a head-on crash occured outside Ayr shortly before 6:00 Wednesday morning.
North Dumfries firefighters were called to assist in getting a driver out of one of the vehicles.
Northumberland Street was closed from Cedar Creek Road to Alps Road.
An officer from the traffic division said the road would remain closed for several hours.
