TORONTO - Ontario's most senior seniors will be able to renew their health cards without lining up with everyone else.
The Liberal government is going to allow people aged 80 and over to renew their health cards through the mail.
Eligible seniors will be able to complete and sign their renewal forms and return them to ServiceOntario in a pre-addressed envelope.
The government says not only will that allow people over 80 to avoid lining up at a ServiceOntario centre, it will also allow them to avoid going out in winter conditions to renew their health cards.
Of course, those who want to renew their cards at a ServiceOntario centre can continue to do so.
Government Services Minister Harinder Takhar says the government is making life "just a little bit easier" for Ontario's older seniors and their caregivers.
