After a very impressive start to their inaugural season in the Canadian Soccer League, SC Waterloo Region has suffered back-to-back losses. The expansion club fell 1-0 to Kingston FC in First Division action at University Stadium.

After opening the campaign with two straight wins, SC Waterloo lost 6-1 last week to defending champion Toronto Croatia. The local club was unable to bounce back against Kingston, thanks to the stellar play of visiting goalkeeper Shane Lopez.

With the game still scoreless early in the second half, Kingston scored the only goal of the match. Off a Waterloo Region giveaway, Kingston's Ryan McCurdy beat keeper Ryan Paumier in the 50th minute.

It was McCurdy's first game for the expansion Kingston squad. The defender had been playing in Ireland for Linfield FC.

SC Waterloo Region will try to snap its two-game losing skid this Saturday afternoon in a game in Montreal against the Impact Academy.

The next action for the CSL's Brantford Galaxy is this Wednesday night when they visit the St. Catharines Roma Wolves.
