Kayla Baker’s road to recovery is continuing.
Baker, who underwent a lung transplant at SickKids Hospital in Toronto two weeks ago, is said to be awake and slowly building up energy while recovering at SickKids.
Her mother, Susan Baker, says Kayla was able to stand up earlier this week with some support.
A photo posted on Facebook showing Kayla sitting on the edge of her hospital bed received more than 1,100 likes within 24 hours.
Susan Baker tells CTV the next steps for Kayla are to have a tube in her neck and throat taken out slowly, likely next week.
Green ribbons in support of Baker continue to wave at many locations in Cambridge.
