The man found guilty in the second-degree murder of his grandmother, Viola Erb, will find out how much time he’ll spend behind bars in February.

Erick Buhr was originally set to be sentenced on Jan. 27.

On Friday, that hearing was moved back a few weeks due to a scheduling issue.

The new sentencing date is Feb. 18.

A jury found Buhr guilty of second-degree murder on Nov. 4. He denied harming his grandmother, who was left badly injured in the kitchen of her home near Baden on Sept. 25, 2022. The 88-year-old died shortly after the arrival of first responders.

During the trial, Buhr took the stand in his own defense.

Then, after the defense rested its case, Buhr abruptly fired his lawyer and asked for a mistrial.

The judge denied that request and Buhr went on to give his own closing address.

The jury returned a few hours later with a guilty verdict for the second-degree murder of Erb.
