After multiple years of providing flights to Cancun, Mexico, Sunwing Vacations has a different destination in mind.
Starting in December, the airline will offer direct weekly flights between Region of Waterloo International Airport and Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba.
“Cayo Santa Maria combines some of Cuba’s best beaches with an array of excellent accommodation choices,” Andrew Dawson, Sunwing’s chief operating officer, said in a press release.
“We’re certain that the new route will prove a popular choice amongst vacationers this coming summer.”
The first flight between Waterloo Region and Cuba will lift off Dec. 24.
Sunwing has been offering seasonal flights to and from Waterloo Region since 2009.
