The Kitchener-Waterloo real estate market took a hit in September, with sale volumes lower than they were in the same month last year.
According to the Kitchener-Waterloo Association of Realtors, which covers those cities and the townships of Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich, 395 homes changed hands in September, down from 444 the previous September.
Condo sales accounted for much of the difference, with only 61 selling this September – down from 97 in 2014.
“September’s relaxed sales numbers are not out of the ordinary, especially since this is a very busy time of year for most people and the thought of selling or buying at this time can be stressful,” KWAR president Mark Wolle said in a press release.
The realtors’ association says trends overall remain strong, as the year-to-date sales total of 4,393 is the highest seen in the area since 2008.
