For the first time in half a year, the housing market in Kitchener, Waterloo and their surrounding townships took a slight dip in August.
The Kitchener-Waterloo Association of Realtors reports that 459 homes changed hands in that area last month – down slightly from the 469 sales recorded in August.
That represents an end to a streak of increased activity stretching back to March.
According to KWAR data, the 459 sales still represents more than took place in any August between 2010 and 2013.
The median price of a house sold in the area in August was $317,500 – the highest ever recorded locally during an August.
As of the end of August, 3,991 house sales had been recorded through KWAR in 2015.
