Officials say a ferry that was stranded overnight on Lake Erie last week may be up and running by Monday.
Susan Schrempf, president of the Owen Sound Transportation Co., says the M.V. Jiimaan has been inspected by divers and the Transportation Safety Board.
She says no damage was found on the vessel that serves Pelee Island.
The company is hopeful that winds will die down enough so the ferry can be taken on a test run across the lake.
A smaller ferry, the M.V. Pelee Islander, is carrying passengers between the island and the Leamington, Ont., dock until further notice.
Pelee Island Rick Masse says there are a lot of events going on this time of year so having full ferry service is important.
The Jiimaan got stuck on a sandbar 200 metres from dock at Kingsville, Ont., on Thursday before an American tugboat pulled it free Friday afternoon.
The 33 passengers and crew aboard spent the night on the ferry.
