One person is dead following a crash in Cambridge’s north end.
Waterloo Regional Police say a vehicle was driving eastbound on Maple Grove Road near Beaverdale Road when it suddenly drifted into a field and struck a tree shortly after 5 p.m.
“We have quite a vast scene of where the vehicle left the road to where it came to rest,” said Sgt. Fred Gregory.
The driver, a 60-year-old Aurora man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the man may have been in medical distress before his vehicle left the road.
“We’ll explore all avenues and come to a conclusion,” said Gregory.
Maple Grove was closed for approximately three hours.
