A new business in Guelph owes its lifeblood to the medicinal marijuana industry – even though it doesn’t house any of the drug itself.
What MedCannAccess does do is help its clients fill out the forms required in order to obtain medicinal marijuana.
Once those forms are filled out and the paperwork is approved, the medicinal marijuana is delivered to their homes.
“We really want to make this as accessible as possible,” says Rade Kovacevic, the company’s vice-president of business development.
Guelph marks the third location in Ontario for Medicann Access, which is the only company of its kind in Canada.
Kovacevic says part of the reason for locating in Guelph is its “great health care and social service network,” as well as its proximity to Waterloo Region and the Greater Toronto Area.
“We see this as a very progressive community that would open us with an open arm,” he says.
