Guelph police say they have seized $30,000 worth of marijuana and nearly $25,000 worth of Canadian money from a resident of that city.

According to police, the investigation into the trafficking of large quantities of marijuana in the city began in February.

On Tuesday, a 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the investigation.

Police say a subsequent search turned up the cash and 15 pounds of marijuana.

A search warrant was obtained for the man’s residence, but no further evidence turned up.

The man is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
