Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit has been brought in to investigate an incident in Brantford which left a 29-year-old man in hospital.

According to the SIU, Brantford Police officers were called to a home on Raleigh Street, in the West Brant neighbourhood, shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday.

After the officers arrived, a conducted energy weapon was deployed and the man received neck injuries.

It was not clear if those two developments were connected.

The man was arrested and taken to hospital.

Information on his condition as of Monday was not provided.

The SIU, which investigates any injuries or deaths that occur during interactions with police in Ontario, wants to hear from anyone with relevant information.
