Nearly 500 charging stations for electric vehicles are under construction around Ontario, including quite a few in our area.
The list includes two locations with eight stations in downtown Kitchener and another one at the Sportsworld Crossing plaza, two locations with a total of seven stations in Waterloo’s north end, and one station on Hespeler Road in Cambridge.
Guelph is getting three stations – one at the social services building on Wyndham Street North and two at a shopping plaza off the Hanlon Parkway – while the Puslinch Library, Arthur Library and Medical Centre, Arthur Sports Complex, Clifford Community Complex, Mount Forest Sports Complex and a Tim Hortons in Harriston will also host charging stations.
Other communities where stations will be built include Stratford (McDonald’s on Ontario Street), Brantford (McDonald’s locations on King George Road and Colborne Street East), Drumbo (truck stop plaza on Oxford Road 29), Woodstock (Quality Inn hotel), Ingersoll (King Street downtown) and Tillsonburg (Tim Hortons locations on Broadway and Simcoe streets).
All of the stations are expected to be operational by March 31, 2017.
