It’s beginning to look a lot like 2010.
At XTR Auto in Kitchener, gas was on offer Friday morning for 99.9 cents per litre.
While gas stations across the city have been slowly edging closer to $1 per litre in recent weeks, XTR is believed to be the first gas station to break that barrier this fall.
The last time CTV News reported on sub-dollar gas prices locally was in February 2010, when some stations in Kitchener were offering gas for as little as 87 cents per litre.
According to the website Gas Buddy, XTR was the only fuel outlet in Waterloo Region to drop below $1 per litre as of Friday afternoon – although prices as low as 95.9 cents per litre were reported in Hagersville and Ohsweken.
