It’s the most wonderful time of the year – especially when you get an unexpected gift of $1 million.

That’s how much Kitchener residents Robert McArthur and Deborah Arthurs won on the Dec. 25 Lotto Max draw.

“After I saw that all the numbers matched one of the lines, I called my husband to have a look,” Arthurs said in an OLG press release.

“And then we both called our son to triple-check. We couldn’t believe we had won $1 million!”

The couple plan to use their winnings to pay off their mortgage, buy a new car and motorcycle, share with family members and have what McArthur termed a “comfortable” retirement.
