A Huron County woman is facing charges after allegedly leaving a child in a vehicle while grocery shopping.
Huron County OPP say a concerned citizen contacted them around 2:30 p.m. June 28 with information that an infant was alone in a pickup truck in the Zehrs parking lot on Huron Road just outside Goderich, with the windows up.
By the time police arrived, the caregiver had returned to the vehicle and the infant was asleep.
The child did not require medical attention.
The woman, a 26-year-old from South Huron, was charged with abandoning a child.
She will appear in court in September.
