BRANTFORD, Ont. - A three-day music festival in Brantford, Ont., headlined by Weezer, Creed and Marianas Trench has been postponed at the last minute after two planned venues fell through.

Hockeyfest promoter Ralph Spoltore told a press conference on Wednesday that he's still trying to find a way to stage the concerts, which were set for this weekend starting Friday.

He said he was in discussions with two Toronto venues.

Earlier this week, Brantford police said it was withdrawing its support and policing for the event based on concerns about safety and security.

The police said organizers failed to meet requirements of the fire department, Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, the Grand River Conservation Authority and other agencies.

The police's statement prompted the conservation authority to withdraw the festival's access to the Brant Park conservation area.
