After two months of searching, 39-year-old Seble Dietrich is still missing.

Guelph police say Dietrich was last seen on July 10, leaving her home and driving her two-door, 1999 red Mercedes SLK – which was later located at her place of business in downtown Guelph.

Dietrich who also goes by the name Mimi, has many friends in the Ethiopian community who are worried about her safety.

In addition to being active in the city’s Ethiopian community, Dietrich was the host of an online religious talk show.

For fellow Ethiopian community members like Emmanuel Mollaligne, frustration is mounting.

“It’s very mind boggling. We don’t exactly know what happened to her.” said Mollaligne.

“When we see when other people disappear there is an extensive search for it and there is an outcome. But in the case of Seble, we haven’t seen anything like that,” he said.

According to police, Dietrich was known to travel frequently within Canada and Ethiopia, but it is out of character for her not to communicate with anyone.

Investigators are treating her disappearance as suspicious.

“Just because we don’t have helicopters in the air or something like that it doesn’t mean that we’re not working our tails off to try and figure out where she is,” said Const. Mike Gatto.

“We have reached out to border security, Interpol, U.S. Homeland Security, RCMP. We’ve reached out to financial institutions,” he said.

Language barriers have made following some leads a bit difficult, police say.
