Four adults and a child from Brampton had to be rescued by Norfolk Country Fire Services after they were struggling to get their inflatable raft back to shore at Long Point Beach.

A concerned citizen called police from the beach around 6:15 p.m. Saturday after spotting the group.

Police say there was no lifesaving equipment on the raft.

A Zodiac water rescue boat was able to bring them back to shore.

The OPP are reminding boaters to make sure they have all lifesaving equipment required by law with them.
