An outbreak of an enteric illness has been declared at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

Hospital officials say three patients, one staff member and one student at the hospital’s medicine unit, on the fifth level of Wing B, have been infected with the disease.

Affected patients have been put in isolation, with visitor restrictions in place at the affected unit.

Specifically, only one visitor is allowed per patient at any time.

The outbreak status will be reviewed after five days pass without an additional case of the disease being diagnosed.
