The nurse accused of killing eight nursing home residents stopped working at the home at the centre of the case more than two years ago – but kept working at long-term care facilities elsewhere in southern Ontario.
From February 2015 until April 2016, Elizabeth Wettlaufer worked on a temporary contract at Telfer Place in Paris.
Telfer Place is owned by long-term care home operator Revera, which says Wettlaufer also worked at two other facilities it owns – Brierwood Gardens in Brantford during August 2015 and May 2016, and Dovercliffs Long-Term Care in Port Dover in August 2016.
In all cases, Revera says, Wettlaufer’s employment was through a nursing employment agency, and not with the homes directly.
Wettlaufer faces eight charges of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of seven residents at Caressant Care in Woodstock, and one person who was living at a long-term care home in London.
All of the people she is alleged to have killed died between 2007 and 2014.
Police have said that they do not believe there are any victims in the case other than the eight people who have already been identified publicly.
