Driver arrested after crashing into Cambridge home

A man is facing multiple charges including impaired driving after a vehicle crashed into a Cambridge home Thursday evening.

At around 7:30 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police Service received multiple calls about a vehicle that struck the retaining wall of a home on Walker Street near Panabaker Road.

Police said after the crash, the driver exited the vehicle and left on foot.

The man was found later by police walking along River Road.

Police said officers were able to determine that the man was impaired and arrested him.

According to police, further investigation showed the driver also struck another vehicle on Queen Street and did not stop.

No one was hurt in that incident.

A 31-year-old Cambridge male, was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), dangerous operation, failure to stop after an accident, driving while under suspension and careless driving.
