The future of the Bright fire station remains uncertain.
Blandford-Blenheim council met Wednesday afternoon to decide whether to close the fire hall in Bright, south of New Hamburg.
There are four fire departments in Blandford-Blenheim Township: Drumbo, Princeton, Plattsville and Bright.
Councillors say the Bright fire stationreceives the fewest calls, and that it comes down to a lack of funding.
A motion was put forward Wednesday to postpone a decision on the fire hall's future. It passed unanimously.
A special meeting will now be held at Bright Hall on January 11 at 7 p.m. to allow more community input.
Residents are concerned they will see an increase in response times and insurance rates if there is no fire hall in their community.
