Provincial police continue to investigate a three-vehicle crash that left roads in Norfolk County closed for several hours.

Three people were taken to hospital following the crash, which occurred around 4:30 p.m. Thursday at McDowell and Forestry Farm roads – west of Simcoe and south of Delhi.

According to OPP, a black pickup truck was travelling southbound on Forestry Farm when it entered the intersection and collided with another black pickup truck.

The crash sent the first pickup off the road, where it rolled several times and came to rest in a ditch.

The second truck ended up in the eastbound lanes of McDowell, where it crashed head-on with an SUV.

The driver of the SUV, a 67-year-old Norfolk County woman, was trapped in her vehicle and rescued by firefighters.

She remains in hospital with injuries described as serious, but not life-threatening.

The 58-year-old Norfolk County man behind the wheel of the second pickup truck was also taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the other pickup truck, a 21-year-old man from Bayham, was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Roads in the area reopened around 9 p.m.
