A man was killed on Friday afternoon, after his car collided with a transport truck in Brantford.
It happened just after noon, at the intersection of Lynden Road and Wayne Gretzky Parkway.
Police say the man was turning left onto Lynden Road, when his car was struck by the transport truck. Somehow the car ended up beneath the truck in a ditch.
Police say the man, who was in his 20s, died shortly after the crash. It took rescue workers several hours to get the man’s body out of the vehicle.
The driver of the truck was not hurt.
The transport truck was carrying a full load, so another truck had to be called in to transfer the contents from one truck to another.
The intersection was closed for most of the day, as police tried to determine the sequence of events that led to the crash.
