Police in Brantford say they have little to go on as they investigate the murder of Jeffrey Roberts, and want to hear from anyone who might be able to help them piece together his death.

Roberts was last seen alive Nov. 5 and reported missing six days after that.

He was found dead Monday by a person walking near the Highway 403 underpass at West Street. An autopsy revealed what police have called “obvious signs of trauma” on his body.

Since then, police have been searching the area around the overpass, including around businesses on Craig Street.

They’ve also searched a home on Darling Street, east of Clarence Street, and started canvassing neighbours of that house in the hopes of gathering useful information.

On Friday, the investigation extended to an apartment on Sherwood Drive. Police said that they learned through Roberts’ friends that an acquaintance of his lived in the apartment.

“We’re trying to turn every stone to find evidence, to try to find out what happened to Jeff,” Insp. Dave Wiedrick told CTV News.

The search of the Craig Street area wrapped up Friday. Police say they have spoken to more than 30 people as part of their investigation.
