Cambridge kitchen fire results in serious burn injuries

One person was taken to hospital with serious burns after a fire Tuesday at a Cambridge apartment complex.

Crews initially responded to 665 Margaret Street around 5 p.m.

Cambridge Fire told CTV News that the flames started in an oven and the person who was hurt was believed to be alone in the apartment.

The fire did not spread to any other units in the four-storey building.

There was a large emergency response to the fire, with multiple fire trucks and other first responders seen at the complex.

Cambridge Fire said they cleared the scene after 7 p.m.

The investigation into the fire is ongoing.
