Brantford police say the death of Jeffrey James Roberts is now being investigated as a homicide.
Roberts’ body was found in a field near West Street and the Highway 403 overpass on Tuesday.
The 45-year-old was initially reported missing by his family on November 11, after he hadn’t been seen since November 5.
Police say obvious signs of trauma were discovered during the autopsy.
Officers will be working in the area where the body was found throughout the day on Wednesday.
Police are looking to speak with anyone who may have information about Jeffrey Roberts’ activities after November 5.
