A Brantford home is no longer livable, after a fire tore through it overnight.

Firefighters have not been able to go inside of the home.

Many neighbours called 911 because the fire was so big and grew quickly, according to firefighters.

“Fire was coming out from underneath the porch there, rolling up around it, the whole house was basically engulfed by the time I had seen what was going on,” said Mike, a neighbour.

“I said it’s my neighbour’s house and its really burning bad, the dispatcher said they'll be there in less than a minute and within 15 seconds they came around the corner,” said Mark Scargall, a next door neighbour.

Three of the four Brantford fire stations responded to the blaze.

A woman and four young people were living in the home, but no one was hurt.

Some animals have not been seen since last night.

Damage is estimated to be well over $200,000, and police are still on scene.
